Get Back on Track

Dec 12th, 2016

Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor have left you stranded at the station after making the decision to remove Nundah, Toombul, Albion and Wooloowin stations from the Caboolture line.

A reduction of services has seen wait times at these four stations go from 3 minutes during the morning peak up to 8 minutes as a result of the removal of the Caboolture line.

This is an inconvenience to all passengers who get on at these stations and all who get off at this station.

Passengers who regularly travel stations like Virginia, Strathpine, Petrie all have to get off at Northgate Station whilst passengers who are travelling out to Ipswich all need to get off at Eagle Junction Station or at Central. Before Labor changed the timetable this was an uninterrupted journey.

Tell Annastacia Palaszczuk it’s not okay to strip our stations of services and to put these stations back on track by signing the petition below.

Last week the train was held up at wooloowin for 5 minutes while the train guard walked up and down the crammed 3 car carriage train to find somewhere to squeeze a wheelchair passenger in. Packed in like sardines again this morning and had someone faint near me. So crowded she didn’t fall but ended up having her slumped body held up by those around her who couldn’t move. The reduction in trains stopping has been very inconvenient but now it’s becoming a public safety risk too.

I wont use a now degraded public transport non-service like this in future.

This is such a strange decision. I live a few streets up from Toombul station. What used to be a great service has dissolved into a joke. One of the reasons we chose to live where we do was because of the train service- what a mistake.

Couldn’t agree more. We have gone from a train every 3 minutes before these changes to a point whereby if I miss my preferred train in the morning, I wait 22 minutes for the next one!

I went from 3 trains I could for my morning commute down to a single 3 car train that is always full and sometimes leaves behind passengers at Albion and Wooloowin because there is not enough room on it by the time is gets to those stations. Afternoon it is even worse I usually had 4 trains that were around the same time that I could catch and now down to a single Shorncliffe train that is again a 3 car unit that is always packed. To make it even more depressing is that there is a Doomben train just before it and it is mostly empty and yet that one is a 6 car unit. Inner north got screwed over when the new line opened.

WOW- well done to all those in control of the train scheduling…..I’m in construction so an early-ish traveler- went from trains being convenient so I got out of the car and onto the train after years of avoiding them.
Now there is half an hour between trains in the 6am to 7am time slot…..back to the car I reckon!

I live a close walk to the Nundah Railway Station and we had a wonderful train service, now I drive to Northgate station and park so that I can get a better train service. Northgate car park is now overflowing and Nundah is near empty so I don’t think I am the only driving to Northgate now. I also have concerns that no trains from Albion, Woolowin, Toombul and Nundah stop at Sunshine station as there are quite a number of people travelling there for work and these people have special needs and now have to change trains and platforms to get to their jobs.
