I'm here at Beef Week in Rockhampton, arguably the Beef Capital of Australia (Casino, NSW, doesn't compare!). It's a fantastic event that's held just once every 3 years. Beef Week 2018 (May 6 to 12) showcases the beef industry in not just Queensland, but all of Australia. It's an event my wife and I have been looking forward to. I've being taking a few snaps during my time here and thought I'd share them with you (especially for those of you who might not have been to Rocky or are only just hearing about Beef Week).

All aboard the plane to Rockhampton! A sneaky selfie with Deb, before we take off. The flight is just over an hour from Brisbane.
My wife, Mary, hanging out with the great big Angus cattle. I was especially proud to see the young kids, the next generation of farmers, showing off their prized stock. I wish I could say the future of the beef industry is secure for them but Labor has just rammed through with their unfair vegetation management laws. Unfortunately, the Palaszczuk Government doesn't care that they are hurting families working on the land, but the LNP and I will always be on the farmers' side.
A #BeefWeek post would not be complete without an overload of cattle photos. There were more than 4500 cattle of over 30 breeds on show. I've seen the best beef cattle Australia has to offer!

Behind the scenes!
Deb was joined by graziers at this media conference to highlight how unfair the Labor Government's vegetation management laws are and why people on the land are so angry with Annastacia Palaszczuk and her government.
It's almost impossible to resist a slow cooked Aussie beef brisket from Black Bunny Kitchen smokehouse. These wood fired smokers and grillers are cooking up 400 kilos of meat a day and the crowds prove how popular they are. Plenty of big hats around as well!
The turn out for 2018 was massive and it's been great to meet so many of you.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next Beef Australia Expo in 2021!
