Charlie the Barber's Story
In 1956, a 14 year old Charlie Parrella left his home country, Italy, and arrived in Inglewood, Australia.
When he turned 16, he opened his first barber shop in the main street of Inglewood. From then, Charlie became known all across town as "Charlie the Barber".
It was in 1968 that Charlie moved to Brisbane and opened his new shop in Hendra. This year mark's his 50th anniversary.
Did you know that the chair at Charlie's (pictured) is the authentic old-school chair that's been used since 1958?
