The vacant State Government owned land at the corner of Le Geyt St and Gennon Street in Windsor has recently been marked with survey pegs. Councillor David McLachlan (Hamilton Ward) and I were alerted by some concerned local residents. There are some concerns that this flood prone land will be sold for a housing development which will require a substantial amount of fill to lift construction out of the flood risk zone.
Is the Government trying to sell this State land to developers? Councillor McLachlan and I think this land should be transformed into a park or recreational area for the wider community to enjoy.
Let us both know how you think this land could be better used, and what it should look like by filling out the survey here. Your opinion matters and Councillor McLachlan and I are very keen to hear what you have to say.
Here's a copy of the letter I sent to Minister Mark Bailey on the 25th of March 2019.
