Meet Aliandra Calabrese.
She has been chosen as a Queensland finalist in the 2018 Miss World Competition.
At 22, she is a Master of Architecture student who has lived in Kalinga for 15 years.
As part of her participation in the pageant, Aliandra has raised over $5,500 for Variety Children's Charity. Her goal is to reach $10,000. Variety Children’s Charity supports disabled, disadvantaged and sick children.
For Aliandra to bring home the title of Miss World, she will need to win the next June pageant, the national and then the international competition.
On the 29th of April, Aliandra hosted a sold out fundraiser High Tea event at Little Paul's Urban Food Market in Albion. It was a beautifully organised event.
At the fundraiser, Aliandra also performed a lovely song for the audience. She's a very talented singer and has studied privately at the Griffith Conservatorium of Music, in South Bank, for 5 years.
More information will be available soon about her performance at the opening of the new Wooloowin Community Centre at the site of the old Kalinga Bowls Club.
Good luck Aliandra! You've got the Clayfield community cheering for you!
