Two whole weeks of keeping the kids busy can sometimes be a daunting task. That's why I've put together a School Holiday Boredom Buster, that might give you a few ideas on getting out of the house and having some fun!


The 78-Storey Treehouse

Terry and Andy are being taken from the pages of the popular Andy Griffith and Terry Denton book and put onto the stage for an amazing production of The 78-Storey Treehouse.  Adapted for the stage by Richard Tulloch, the show (and book) tells the story of Terry and Andy who live in an absolutely amazing treehouse. The show is a fun, laugh out loud comedy that is recommended for Brisbane Kids aged 6 years and over, fans of the Treehouse franchise and their parents.

Kids Dig It! Medieval Family Fun

Back by popular demand, the Abbey Museum is once again hosting this Family-focused event aiming to teach kids about life during the medieval era in exciting and interactive ways! There are a wealth of activities hosted throughout the day, including but not limited to: archery, archaeological digs, shield painting, manuscript writing, medieval games and a medieval costume competition where the best-dressed children can win prizes! Food and drinks will be available on-site.

The festival also hosts a wide range of both retail and food & beverage stalls boasting both period and modern wares. RACQ MotorFest

As always, the event promises to have something for everyone. Last year thousands of car buffs and families turned out to see the 400+ prestige, vintage, unique and collector vehicles that were showcased in a colourful carnival environment. 

In 2018, all the family favourites will return, including roving entertainment, market stalls, kids’ rides and food stalls. It’s undoubtedly Brisbane’s most inexpensive day out!
